Yusmany Gil didn’t follow a straight path to mental health. He started as an IT professional — a world that taught him to innovate, solve problems methodically, and adapt quickly. Those same principles now drive his leadership as founder of Progressive Medical Center and advocate for mental health in the Hispanic community.

His journey is deeply personal. The cognitive decline of his grandfather revealed a painful gap: the lack of nearby, comprehensive, culturally sensitive spaces for families who needed support. Together with his sister, he transformed that pain into action — and in 2021, founded Progressive Medical Center to walk alongside families with real, accessible care. He himself sought therapy during a difficult moment, an experience that deepened his commitment to making help available without stigma.

Today, Progressive Medical Center is more than a clinic. It’s a platform for access — combining psychiatry, psychology, and community-based therapies under one roof. We serve patients of all ages, in three languages (English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole), with the mission of breaking barriers and changing lives. Progressive Medical Center is a certified Community Mental Health Center (CMHC), accredited by The Joint Commission, and licensed by AHCA, CLIA and the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF).

With locations in Miami and Jacksonville, and a vision to expand across South, Central, and North Florida — we are just getting started.
